Its 2022 edition took place on outdoor hard courts at Ken Rosewall Arena within the Sydney Olympic Park Tennis Centre, bringing men’s and women’s singles and doubles players together at one venue. Unlike team sports, the competition featured individual players and doubles pairs representing their countries, with matches contested under standard professional tennis rules. Notable singles champions in 2022 were Aslan Karatsev, who defeated former world No. 1 Andy Murray in the men’s final, and Paula Badosa, who beat Barbora Krejcikova in the women’s final. The event provided players with valuable match practice in Australian conditions and gave fans an opportunity to see leading international competitors before the season’s first Grand Slam. The Sydney Olympic Park3 Tennis Classic was a short-lived tournament name used for the 2022 event, succeeding the long-running Sydney Olympic Park3 International on the tennis calendar. Its central location at Sydney Olympic Park made the tournament accessible to local supporters and visiting tennis fans.
