Staged on outdoor hard courts as part of the Australian Open lead-up events, it gave players a chance to compete in Melbourne ahead of the season’s first Grand Slam. The men’s tournament was an ATP 250 event, featuring singles players and doubles teams from the international tour. British player Daniel Evans won the singles title, defeating Canada’s Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final. The venue, Melbourne Park, is home to the Australian Open and includes several show courts and competition courts used for matches. The Murray River Open was created for the unusual 2021 Australian summer of tennis, when strict COVID-19 quarantine arrangements led organisers to schedule additional tournaments in Melbourne. These events helped provide competitive opportunities while players prepared for the Grand Slam. For tennis fans searching for Murray River Open results, players, venue information or tournament history, the event is notable as a one-off ATP competition held at one of the sport’s best-known major venues.
