The BMW Open is a professional men’s tennis tournament held annually in Munich, Germany, and is a key event on the ATP Tour clay-court calendar. Hosted at the MTTC Iphitos club, the tournament features outdoor clay courts, with Center Court providing the main setting for singles and doubles matches. Since joining the ATP 500 category in 2025, the BMW Open has attracted a stronger field of international players competing for valuable ranking points and the title. Unlike team sports, tennis entries represent individual players and doubles partnerships, with competitors arriving from countries around the world. German stars have a special connection to the event, including Munich native Alexander Zverev, a former champion, while recent winners such as Holger Rune and Jan-Lennard Struff have added to its modern history. Usually staged in spring, the tournament offers a useful test ahead of the French Open and other major clay-court competitions. Fans follow the BMW Open for high-level ATP tennis, its distinctive Munich setting, and the chance to watch established names and rising players compete on European clay.
