The venue, built for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, hosts races, field competitions and para-athletics, with the programme varying by edition. Rather than competing as conventional club teams, athletes represent their countries and compete individually or in relay squads. Events may include sprint and middle-distance races, hurdles, long jump, high jump, pole vault and throwing disciplines, featuring Olympic medallists, world champions and rising talent. The meet has a long history under names including the London Grand Prix and has formed part of major international athletics circuits; its status and schedule depend on the year. Spectators can expect fast-paced competition, elite performances and a stadium atmosphere in one of London’s best-known sporting venues. For visitors, the London Stadium is accessible by public transport, with nearby Stratford stations serving the Olympic Park.
