The Maekyung Open is a leading professional golf tournament in South Korea, drawing top Korean players and international competitors to compete for the individual title. First held in 1982, the event is traditionally staged at Namseoul Country Club in Seongnam, near Seoul, where its demanding layout and fast greens test accuracy, course management and putting. Unlike team sports, the Maekyung Open is decided by individual stroke play, with golfers seeking the lowest total score across four rounds. The tournament is associated with the KPGA Tour and has also featured international tour competition, making it an important stop for players pursuing ranking points, prize money and a place in Korean golf history. Its field can include established champions, rising professionals and leading contenders from across Asia, with the exact player list varying by year. Fans following the Maekyung Open can look for tournament news, player profiles, tee times, leaderboard updates and results throughout event week. With a long history, a prominent Seoul-area venue and a competitive mix of domestic and overseas golfers, the Maekyung Open remains one of South Korea’s best-known golf events.
