The 38th America’s Cup Match is the planned 2027 final of sailing’s oldest international trophy competition, set to take place off Naples, Italy, in the Gulf of Naples. Rather than a conventional stadium, the event’s venue is an on-water racecourse, with coastal viewing areas and broadcast coverage bringing the action to spectators. The defender, Emirates Team New Zealand, will race against the challenger that emerges from the preceding Louis Vuitton Cup. Among the teams announced for the 2027 campaign are Luna Rossa Prada Pirelli and Athena Racing, alongside other international syndicates competing for a place in the Match. Each crew combines a sailing team with specialists in boat design, engineering and race strategy; individual line-ups may change as teams prepare. The competition is expected to feature foiling AC75 yachts, high-performance boats that rise above the water on hydrofoils and can reach impressive speeds. With its Naples setting, elite crews and close tactical racing, the 38th America’s Cup Match will be a major fixture on the international sailing calendar and a landmark sporting event for Italy.
