Saint Moritz skiing is a premier alpine sports attraction in the Swiss resort town of St. Moritz, best known for hosting international races on the Corviglia mountain. The venue has staged the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships several times, including in 1934, 1948, 1974, 2003 and 2017, and regularly features on the Alpine Ski World Cup calendar. Unlike a traditional stadium sport, alpine skiing takes place on marked mountain courses, with spectators watching from course-side areas and the finish zone at Salastrains. Competitors race individually against the clock, representing national ski teams rather than club teams, in events such as downhill, super-G, giant slalom and slalom. St. Moritz has welcomed leading athletes from across the world, including Olympic and World Cup champions; the starting field and participating nations vary by race and season. The resort’s high-altitude setting, established ski infrastructure and challenging Corviglia terrain make it a prominent destination for elite competition and recreational skiing alike. For fans seeking St. Moritz ski race results, schedules and athlete information, official FIS event listings provide current details.
