There are some huge sporting events coming up this week. On Monday, Sri Lanka take on South Africa in the T20 World Cup, Tuesday sees the exciting Isle of Man TT head into its third day, and the State of Origin Series begins on Wednesday. The Boston Celtics take on the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday, and Friday will see the start of the 2024 European Athletics Championships.

Going into the weekend, the French Open enters its business end with the Women’s Final on Saturday, and the highly anticipated clash between Pakistan and India takes place on Sunday.

T20 World Cup: Sri Lanka v South Africa

Sri Lanka and South Africa will clash on Monday to kick off their T20 World Cup campaign at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. After defeating Ireland in their warm-up match, Sri Lanka enters the competition with confidence. In contrast, South Africa will look to rebound after suffering a clean sweep in their recent three-T20I series against the Windies.

Tuesday sees the Isle of Man TT continue with Race Day 3, with two exciting race days already having taken place over the previous weekend. On Day 3, there will be RL360 Superstock TT and Metzeler Supertwin TT races taking place at this unique event.

State of Origin Series: New South Wales Blues v Queensland Maroons (State of Origin Game I)

Wednesday will see the start of the State of Origin Series with the New South Wales Blues facing the Queensland Maroons at Stadium Australia in the first of three thrilling games. The Maroons, winners of three of the last five series, seek to reaffirm their dominance, while the Blues, champions in 2019 and 2021, will aim to extend their legacy.

NBA: Boston Celtics v Dallas Mavericks

The Boston Celtics face the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday at TD Garden. Celtics, considered by many throughout the season to be one of the best teams in the league, stormed through the Conference Finals after beating Indiana Pacer 4-0. However, the Dallas Mavericks are peaking at just the right time coming out of the Conference Finals.

European Athletics Championships: European Athletics Championships 2024 Day 1

Stadio Olimpico, Rome

Friday will see the 2024 European Athletics Championships begin at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome, bringing together the continent's top athletes for a thrilling competition. Friday’s event will see intense competition across various disciplines, including track and field.

Grand Slam (Tennis): French Open 2024 Day 9

On Friday, the French Open enters its business end with the Women’s Final at the Stade Roland Garros in Paris. World No. 1 Iga Świątek cruised into the Quarter-Finals after thrashing Anastasia Potapova in a straight-sets victory on Sunday. The Men’s Final will take place on Sunday at the Stade Roland Garros.

T20 World Cup: India v Pakistan

Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, New York

Pakistan will face India in a T20 World Cup showdown on Sunday at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. Historically, India have enjoyed tremendous success over Pakistan in ICC events, however, Pakistan ended this streak with a 10-wicket win over India in the 2021 T20 World Cup.
