This Week in Sport: 13th November − 19th November 2023
There are some huge sports events coming up this week. Monday will see the ATP Finals continue, the Washington Capitals face the Vegas Golden Knights in the NHL on Tuesday, and the Philadelphia 76ers host the Boston Celtics in the NBA on Wednesday. On Thursday, the Baltimore Ravens go up against the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL, and Friday sees the second day of the DP World Tour Championship take place.
Heading into the weekend, the inaugural Formula 1 Las Vegas Grand Prix takes place on Saturday, and the Cricket World Cup Final rounds out the week on Sunday.

The ATP Finals enters its second day on Monday at the Pala Alpitour in Torino. Monday’s Singles matches will see Carlos Alcaraz face Alexander Zverev and Daniil Medvedev take on Andrey Rublev. Current favourites for the tournament are Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz.

NHL action on Tuesday as the Washington Capitals take on the reigning champions, the Vegas Golden Knights, at the Capital One Arena. The Golden Knights have continued their excellent form from their last campaign, starting this season with 12 wins out of their first 15 games. The Capitals have had a mixed bag of results, winning seven of their 13 games, but will be hoping home-advantage can help them beat the champions.

Wednesday will see the Philadelphia 76ers host the Boston Celtics at Wells Fargo Center in the NBA. Both sides have had strong starts to the season, with the 76ers sitting top of the Easter Conference with a record of 8-1, winning eight in a row, and the Celtics sitting just behind them in second with a record of 7-2. This is sure to be a high-quality game.

The Baltimore Ravens will host the Cincinnati Bengals at the M&T Bank Stadium on Thursday in the NFL. The Ravens currently sit top of the AFC North whereas the Bengals sit bottom of the same division. This game should be a classic with both teams suffering surprise losses at the weekend, off the back of being previously seen as the form sides in the league.

The DP World Tour Championship takes place this week, with day two taking place on Friday. The tournament is the climax of the DP World Tour, and will see the likes of Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, and Adrian Meronk compete.

Las Vegas Street Circuit, Las Vegas
The inaugural Las Vegas Grand Prix will take place on Saturday at the Las Vegas Street Circuit. This is the first time a race has been held in Las Vegas since 1982. Max Verstappen and Red Bull have already wrapped up the two titles, but there is still a lot to compete for, as Lewis Hamilton and Sergio Pérez battle it out for second in the Drivers’ standings, and Mercedes and Ferrari look to secure second in the Constructor standings.

Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad
The Final of the Cricket World Cup in India will take place on Sunday, with the match being held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Semifinals are still yet to be played, and the two matches will see India, who won every one their games in the group stage, face New Zealand, and South Africa take on Australia.
