Event of the Day: Milwaukee Bucks versus Golden State Warriors

Our event of the day is the NBA fixture between the Milwaukee Bucks and the Golden State Warriors at the Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee. The Bucks are enjoying an excellent season and sit in 2nd in the Eastern Conference. With a tough schedule ahead of them, they look to put pressure on the first place Raptors while holding off the hungry 76ers, who currently are in 3rd. The Warriors look to reclaim their throne in the West after a recent lacklustre run saw them surpassed by the Denver Nuggets, Oklahoma City Thunder and LA Clippers. However, Steph Curry is back from an injury layoff, and the Warriors will look to overcome this major challenge of the Bucks on the last match of their five-game road trip. Be sure you don’t miss what is set to be an exciting match. The Bucks are off to an excellent start to the season. The last time they had a better start than 16-7 through 23 games was at the start of 1981-82 season. Leading this white-hot Bucks squad is Giannis Antetokounmpo. Antetokounmpo is having a fantastic season, scoring 27.6 points a game and being the top points-getter in 17 of the Bucks’ first 23 games.

However, Antetokounmpo is by no means carrying the team. Eric Bledsoe is a solid point guard putting up 16 points a game this season; Khris Middleton is an invaluable small forward who is denying the opposition with 5.1 defensive rebounds per game. They come into tonight’s match having defensively strangled the Pistons in a 115-92 win on Wednesday night. Overall, the Bucks have built a talented team with few weaknesses that is ready for a serious playoff run. Meanwhile, the Warriors are back to their winning ways after a few mediocre weeks. Steph Curry has returned in style, scoring 87 points in his first three games back as the Warriors have been on a four-game run away from home against the Toronto Raptors, Detroit Pistons, Atlanta Hawks and Cleveland Cavaliers. A win against the Hawks earlier in the week snapped a six-game losing streak in games played away from the Oracle Arena. While they enter Milwaukee on a two-game win streak, both wins came against some of the weakest teams in the NBA. If the Warriors want to continue their comeback, they have to win against teams like the Bucks. With the Bucks looking to close in on the Raptors in the East and the Warriors eager to reclaim their throne in the West, it is sure to be an exciting game in Milwaukee tonight.

Honourable mentions around the globe go to Serie A, where Juventus host Inter Milan at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. Juventus have dominated Italian’s top league this season, unbeaten in 14 games and 8 points clear of 2nd place Napoli. Offseason signing Cristiano Ronaldo has been dominant, scoring 10 goals in 14 games. Inter Milan, who are 3rd, are enjoying a good season of their own and one of the few teams that could currently threaten Juventus. Be sure you don’t miss this exciting Italian matchup. Elsewhere, the 3rd Test between Pakistan and New Zealand concludes at the Sheik Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. In the NHL, the Edmonton Oilers host the Minnesota Wild at Rogers Place. In the European Rugby Challenge Cup, Edinburgh face Newcastle at the BT Murrayfield Stadium.

Whatever you’re watching, enjoy!
