The Knights are a professional Jubilee Oval1 League team based in Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia. Founded in 1988, the team competes in the National Jubilee Oval1 League (NRL) and have won two premierships in 1997 and 2001. They have a strong fan base and play their home games at McDonald Jones Stadium, which has a capacity of over 30,000. The team has produced many successful players, including current captain Mitchell Pearce and legendary fullback Andrew Johns. They have also received various individual accolades, such as Dally M Player of the Year awards for Kurt Gidley and Danny Buderus. The Knights have a proud history and continue to be a top contender in the Jubilee Oval3, making them a force to be reckoned with on the field.
