Event of the day

Our event of the day...

is the final day of the USPGA Dell Technologies Championships in Boston. With some big names missing the cut, including defending champion Rory McIlroy, it's American Justin Thomas and Australian Marc Leishman who are currently leading with current scores of 12 under par. Other names to keep an eye are Englishman Paul Casey who is just one shot behind the leaders.

On 10 under, sit Americans Jordan Speith and Grayson Murray and Canadian Adam Hadwin. During this golf season, it continues to be exciting to follow the progress of Spaniard Jon Rahm – who was ranked outside the top 500 in the Official World Rankings last year – who is still in the mix on 9 under. There is also sure to be a late charge from one of the big names slightly further back in the pack such as Americans Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson. It should be a thrilling American Labor Day of golf at TPC Boston.

Honourable mentions...

go to the clash at the top of the European World Cup Qualifying group F as England take on Slovakia at Wembley Stadium. In cricket, Bangladesh look to follow up on their dramatic 20 run win against Australia in the first of their two-test match series and claim an historic series win against their opponents as day one of the second test starts in Chittagong. In tennis, the US Open approaches the business end of the competition with Rogerer Federer up against Philipp Kohlschreiber and Rafael Nadal battling Alexandr Dolgopolov in the round of 16.

Whatever you're watching, enjoy.
