is the opening day of the USPGA Tour BMW Championship at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Illinois, USA. The 2016 tournament was won by American Dustin Johnson who is currently ranked number 1 in the world, Englishman Paul Casey finishing three shots behind in second. World number 4 Justin Thomas was victorious in last month’s Dell Technologies Championship and looks in great form coming into this next installment of the golfing calendar. He will expect to be in the mix for the title come the end of the four rounds. Fellow American and Open champion Jordan Spieth will also look to challenge at the top of the leader board with the talented world number 2 finishing second at the Dell Technologies Championship.
The BMW Championship signals the third FedEx Cup play-off tournament and has seen the top 100 points leaders cut down to 70. With the top 30 seeded players competing for the $10 million prize money at the Tour Championship in Atlanta, Georgia, things really are beginning to heat up on the course. With some big names playing well in the build up to this competition it’s set to be an intriguing tournament.
go to the opening round of the 2017/18 UEFA Europa League as Arsenal host 1. FC Köln at the Emirates Stadium while Everton travel to Atalanta in Italy. Arsenal find themselves in the Europa League this year after missing out on a UEFA Champions League spot for the first time in 19 years and are one of the tournament’s favourites.
In Super League, Hull FC face Wakefield Trinity at the KCOM Stadium. Hull FC ran out comfortable 40-18 winners the last time the two sides faced each other. In the NFL the Houston Texans travel to the Paul Brown Stadium in Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. Both teams will be looking to bounce back from opening weekend defeats to the Jacksonville Jaguars and Baltimore Ravens respectively.
