The Penguins will be looking for a strong start to the season in their bid to become the first team to win the Stanley Cup three times in a row since the New York Islanders’ four years of dominance from 1980-1983. All eyes will be on the champions in what promises to be an entertaining beginning to the season.
The Blues finished last season in fine form, winning fifteen of their last nineteen fixtures to finish third in the Central Division of the Western Conference. They reached the second round of the playoffs where they lost over six games to the Nashville Predators, the Predators would go on to lose to the Penguins in the Stanley Cup Finals. Today will be a challenging beginning to the season for both teams and should be a competitive and entertaining match at the home of the defending champions.

In Speedway it’s the SGB Premiership Grand Final second leg at Monmore Green, Wolverhampton between the Wolverhampton Wolves and the Swindon Robins after Wolves won the first leg 47-43 away at Swindon.
