Our event of the day
is the third day of the cycling Six Day Series at Lee Valley VeloPark in London which includes the conclusion of the 1878 Cup featuring riders in the under 21 category. The event is renowned for having a packed schedule with a variety of track events and a lively atmosphere and as the competition approaches its half way point, we can expect another action-packed day of cycling. In the third year since the Six Days of London returned (the event wasn’t held between 1980 and 2015), Mark Cavendish is teaming up with fellow Isle of Man cyclist Peter Kennaugh to form a strong team for the event.
Cavendish finished in second place last year when teaming up with Bradley Wiggins, they were edged out by Belgians Moreno de Pauw and Kenny de Ketele. The Belgian champions return this year and will be the team to beat, considering they have won the London event on the last two occasions. Today’s schedule includes 40 lap Derny action alongside other events such as the Madison Chase, Team Elimination and 200m Flying TT. It should prove to be another entertaining day of racing from the velodrome.
around the globe go to the second ODI game of the Women’s Ashes series as Australia Women take on England Women at C.ex Coffs International Stadium in Coffs Harbour, New South Wales, Australia. Australia won the opening game by two wickets and lead the points score for the series 2-0. There are eleven games in the NHL including the Pittsburgh Penguins versus the Winnipeg Jets at the PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh. Roger Federer is in action in the round of 16 at the ATP Swiss Indoors in Basel while it’s the fourth day at the ATP Erste Bank Open in Vienna. The Baltimore Ravens host the Miami Dolphins at the M&T Bank Stadium in the NFL and it’s the first day of the PGA Tour WGC-HSBC Champions at the Sheshan Golf Club.
Whatever you’re watching, enjoy.
